Most of my writing efforts recently have been concentrated towards my poetry class. I had reservations about taking a poetry class, but the fiction half of the intro creative writing class didn't fit in my schedule and I have to take an intro class before I can take the regular fiction class, so I figured I'd try it. It was so much better and more fun than I anticipated, half of which was due to my teacher, who was wonderful. Now that classes are over (just finals left, grrr), I'm really glad I did take the poetry class. It was good for my writing skills to go out of my genre and comfort level. Not that I'm going to start writing poetry now,

This is the most writing I've ever done in one week. And I love it. I wrote a 4 page story in 2 days, which for me is amazing, and I finally finished my four-part story-paragraph thingy that I've been working on for a while. I also got some ideas for reworking one of my other stories. I'm actually one of the RAs for the week-long program, it's for high school students, but I get to go to some of the workshops and events in the adult program that's going on at the same time. Basically it's lots of fun. side note: wtf? the mood icon won't change. :shakefist: hmph.

haha, I realized I said I'm a writer but I have more photos up than writing. *sigh* I can only partly use school as an excuse. Partly. About half. But I'm hoping *crosses fingers* that I'll be able to get in some quality writing time, because after tonight I finally don't have any more exams until finals next month and my next essay isn't really due until next Thursday. I can fudge it on Tuesday like I usually do. I'm actually hoping being on dA might be that extra smidge of motivation that makes me take my laptop downstairs (where there is no internet :)) and actually do some writing.
